Angie Keefer

is an artist and writer.

Drawing sound
Drawing sound, 2019. 16mm film, color, no sound, 14:36 minutes.

Since 2010, she has exhibited in The Whitney Biennial, The Liverpool Biennial, Greater New York, and elsewhere, while her talks and performances have been staged at Artists Space, Performa, the São Paulo Biennial, and The Carnegie International, among others.

Her writing often evolves through artists' books and performance formats, though her texts have occasionally appeared in Harvard Design Magazine, Mousse, and other periodicals. Second Thoughts, a collection of her work from the previous decade, was published in 2019 by Kunstverein Amsterdam and Plug In ICA.

From 2020-23, she convened and edited Version Space, a series of interviews among artists concerning AI. She wrote about it in an essay called Mirror Worlds in 2025.

In 2010, she co-founded The Serving Library, a non-profit artists' organization dedicated to publishing and artist-run education, where she co-edited The Bulletins until 2017. In fall of 2026, The Serving Library published "Neurocarrots," a journal-length conversation with Keefer about AI and education.

Since 2019, she hosts occasional workshops to develop methods of making art collectively.

She has held teaching appointments at the Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam, the Werkplaats Typografie in Arnhem, the Yale School of Art in New Haven, and the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm.
